Tom Cameron Awards
This Award is dedicated to the memory of Past District Governor Tom Cameron OAM. During his year as District Governor in 1968-69, Tom was responsible for the formation of a large number of Lions Clubs throughout Western Australia. His dedication and passion for the service of Lions to the community was exemplary. Tom was one of a number of Lions who answered the challenge of Helen Keller that “Lions be Knights for the Blind” and was at the forefront of developing the Sight Programme in Western Australia. He was a member of the inaugural Board of Directors of the Lions Save-Sight Foundation and his passion and vision for the future has played a large part in the establishment and functioning of the Foundation and development of the Lions Eye Institute. This award is to honour PDG Tom Cameron’s dedication and passion toward Lions and sight preservation.
If you know a Lion or member of the public whose work in community service deserves recognition you can purchase this award for $300. All funds generated go towards research and saving sight. A great way to recognize a humanitarian effort.
